Day 1: Athens – Corinth Canal – Epidaurus – Nafplio

Depart from Athens and travel toward the Peloponnese, following the coastal road to the Corinth Canal.

After a short stop at the canal, continue to the UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios at Epidaurus.

Visit the famous Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the best-preserved theatres of the ancient Greek world and renowned for its exceptional proportions and acoustics.

The theatre forms part of the wider Sanctuary of Asklepios, one of the most important healing centers of antiquity. The sanctuary developed around the worship of Asklepios, the ancient Greek god of medicine and healing.

Continue to Nafplio, one of Greece’s most historic seaside cities and the first capital of the modern Greek state.

Enjoy free time to explore the Old Town, walk along the waterfront, visit Syntagma Square, and admire views of Bourtzi and the Palamidi Fortress.

Dinner and overnight stay in Nafplio.

Day 2: Nafplio – Mycenae – Olympia

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free morning in Nafplio before departing at approximately 12:30 for the Archaeological Site of Mycenae.

Mycenae was one of the most important centers of the Mycenaean civilization, which flourished during the Late Bronze Age and played a major role in the development of early Greek culture.

Enter the fortified citadel through the monumental Lion Gate, see the massive Cyclopean Walls, and explore the remains of the ancient palace complex.

The visit also includes the Treasury of Atreus, an impressive Mycenaean tholos tomb traditionally known as the Tomb of Agamemnon.

After the visit, continue through the central Peloponnese, passing Tripoli and Megalopolis before arriving in Olympia.

Day 3: Ancient Olympia – Rion-Antirion Bridge – Nafpaktos – Itea – Delphi

After breakfast, visit the UNESCO-listed Archaeological Site of Olympia, one of the most important religious and athletic centers of the ancient Greek world.

Olympia was the sanctuary of Zeus and the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, which were traditionally held there every four years from 776 BC.

Explore the archaeological site, including the Sanctuary of Zeus and the Ancient Stadium, and continue to the Archaeological Museum of Olympia.

After the visit, travel through the regions of Elis and Achaea before crossing the Corinthian Gulf on the impressive Rion-Antirion Bridge.

Continue past Nafpaktos, historically known as Lepanto, and Itea before reaching Delphi.

Day 4: Delphi Archaeological Site & Museum – Kalambaka

After breakfast, visit the UNESCO-listed Delphi Archaeological Site, one of the most important religious centers of the ancient Greek world.

Ancient Greeks regarded Delphi as the navel of the world. The sanctuary was dedicated primarily to Apollo and became famous throughout the ancient Mediterranean for the Oracle of Delphi, where the priestess Pythia delivered prophetic responses.

Explore the sanctuary and the Temple of Apollo before continuing to the Delphi Archaeological Museum.

The museum houses major works discovered at the sanctuary, including the Bronze Charioteer of Delphi, the Sphinx of Naxos, and the statue of Antinous.

After the guided visit, depart for Kalambaka, situated at the foot of the extraordinary rock formations of Meteora.

Day 5: Meteora Monasteries – Thermopylae – Athens

After breakfast, visit the UNESCO-listed Meteora Monasteries, one of Greece’s most remarkable cultural landscapes.

Orthodox hermits began settling among the towering rock formations from around the 11th century. Over the following centuries, monasteries were established on the summits of the sandstone pillars, creating one of the most distinctive monastic landscapes in Europe.

Visit selected monasteries and discover their centuries-old Orthodox heritage, Byzantine and post-Byzantine art, religious icons, wall paintings, and historic collections.

After the Meteora visit, begin the return journey through Central Greece, passing through Trikala and Lamia.

At Thermopylae, make a short stop to view the Monument of King Leonidas from across the road, commemorating the famous Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC.

Continue to Athens, arriving in the early evening.
